ビョーク『ヴァルニキュラ』より。
「Atom dance（原子のダンス）」は、レーザー光線によって原子がまるでスクエアダンスのような動きをする状態のこと。
ビョークはスーフィー（イスラム教神秘主義）の詩にインスピレーションを受けたそうです（スーフィーはくるくると回るダンスで有名）。さらにアイスランドの「ヴィキヴァキ（アイスランドのくるくる回るダンスらしい）」も意識して、原子が回転するダンスの歌になったということですね。歌詞はビョークの友人で作家のOddny Eirとの共作。
自然現象を通して人間の感情を語っているという点では、前作『バイオフィリア』に通じるものがあります。
